Join us to rally inside city hall and call upon Mayor Kenney and city council to fully fund our libraries!
The Free Library of Philadelphia is critically underfunded. Neighborhood libraries shut down regularly due to inadequate staffing, and many branches still don't have Saturday service. Library staff, patrons, and all members of our communities are coming together to ensure that libraries get the funding they need to be fully staffed and open 6 or 7 days a week all year long, have up to date equipment and materials, and have robust resources for programs.
At this event Friends of the Library, union members, youth, and others will address our elected officials, the press, and the public to call for our libraries to be fully funded. We will meet on the Northeast Corner of City Hall and go inside together. Make sure to bring your ID to get through security. See you on December 12th!
