The first day of Council is right around the corner and this year we’re showing up to give them a piece of our minds!
The Philadelphia Coalition for Affordable Communities and the Our City Our Schools coalition are continuing the work to push for a change to the ten year tax abatement. We’re sharing the message that our city should stop giving handouts to the wealthy so we can clean up our schools and expand affordable, accessible housing for low-income households.
We’ll be arriving at 10am and filling Council Chambers in our coalition shirts. We’ll give you headbands with thought bubbles attached that make it clear where we stand with sayings like “Does anyone on Council care about poor people?”, “When will the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes?” and some funny ones like “What are they all doing on their cell phones?”
