DEFEND DEMOCRACY! Join Fair Districts PA in Harrisburg on April 16 to demand party leaders allow a vote on bipartisan reform legislation that more than half of House members have already co-sponsored.
While the lawsuits and actions of the PA Supreme Court affirmed that “gerrymandering for unfair partisan political advantage” violates our PA constitutional right of “free and equal elections,” we are not out of the woods. Our fight is not over.
The court ruling and the new map doesn't change the process by which Congressional and state legislative districts are drawn. We will continue to ask our legislators to enact a constitutional amendment to end the current conflict of interest. Momentum is building to provide a long-term solution by enacting HB722 and SB22.
These bills are stuck in committee despite strong bipartisan support, with 109 co-sponsors in the House, the most of any bill in this session, and 18 co-sponsors n the Senate.
Please plan to come and invite friends and allies.
BUS TRANSPORTATION OPTION
We’ll have buses coming from every corner of the state and are inviting all our endorsing organizations to join us. Depending on the number AND location of those interested, we will be able to identify pick up locations. Follow up emails will be sent to those who indicate they would take bus transportation.
Please consider making a donation to cover the cost to charter buses. We want tickets prices to be low so all to have the ability to attend.
