It’s budget season: time for us to reflect on where we are and where we need to be. Combined, the School District and City budgets total $9 billion dollars. It is time that we transform our schools!

Pennsylvania has the MOST inequitable school funding system in the country, and our neighborhood schools are suffering. Transforming our schools will be a public health win, a public education win, and a public works win. We must fight against the atrocious, perilous conditions of our public school buildings.

We must stand with our youth and fight for our local schools- and that means guaranteeing real investments in our public schools. We need investments to fill massive curricular vacancies. We need more counselors. We need wage increases for district maintenance and support staff. And we need meaningful investments in our school facilities.

Join us as we take a stand, share our experiences and fight against the unfair funding system in court and with local advocacy efforts.

We don't have to accept the status quo. We reject crumbling buildings, too few staff, and too few resources. Come out, get informed, get involved, and let's get to work.

ALL ARE WELCOME. Please contact Christian Lovehall at 215-686-3420 or christian.lovehall@phila.gov with questions, accessibility requests or if you want to sign up to volunteer an hour or more of your time to this campaign.
