Lancaster Against Pipelines (LAP) has been working to stop the Atlantic Sunrise fracked gas pipeline for over two years. It is now being built and LAP has organized many creative ways to resist.
The pipeline is being built on many private properties, including that of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, a group of nuns. These nuns have challenged FERC and Williams on freedom of religion grounds to stop the pipeline. Read about it here: http://lancasteronline.com/news/local/contested-land-owned-by-nuns-is-first-spot-for-atlantic/article_ffe0a232-c000-11e7-a76b-3729d6b809a8.html
Oral arguments for the Sisters' case will be heard at 9am at the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, 601 Market Street, 19th floor, Philadelphia PA. Bring photo ID to get in.
The Sisters would like a supportive crowd in the courtroom and at a press conference afterwards.
LAP has movement principals. They are non-violent in word and deed. If you are able to come and lend support, please refrain from cursing and yelling. If you have t-shirts and/or buttons from other groups that support LAP, you could wear them.
Feel free to pass this along to those you know who will be interested.
